First it is much faster than earlier versions and also slimmer, brighter and lighter. It has more storage and long battery life.
The Kindle has a great intuitive interface such as the keyboard and the D pad. The E ink technology makes it feel as if you are reading a real book. The contrast is great and you can read it at low light although it does not have a backlight. There are some Kindle cases that come with light.

We had to look hard to find anything we don’t like about our Kindle 3. First it does not have a memory card slot. So if you need to load any documents you have to email it and then convert it. It should be easy drag and drop files. They seem to make it difficult to access ePub books of which there are many online. I guess Amazon makes it such that you just purchase content from them – which is a snap through the WIFI.
However there is no question in my mind that the Amazon Kindle is by far the best e-reader out there- not simply because it is intuitive or the best selling but also because it gives you access to Amazon content which is more than anyone else’s. Almost everyone has an Amazon account. In addition, there is lot of free e-books and you can download one or more chapters of any book. Currently I am reading the free sample of Steve Jobs autobiography.
